Résumé
Psychological disorders following mastectomy are numerous and vary with breast cancer prognosis, adjuvant treatments and patients' characteristics. In some cases, mastectomy can lead to feminine and sexual disorders. Reconstructive breast surgery has proved to be beneficial to improve these psychological disorders. Nonetheless, even if breast reconstruction leads to favourable aesthetic outcome, breast mourning must be taken into account and the reconstructed breast must be appropriated and accepted by the patient. A psychological "reconstruction" is concomitantly necessary to face visible and profound femininity and self-esteem alteration.
